There can be no denying – the events currently taking place, globally – are truly historic.
 
The very qualities that make humans, human – are slowly being eroded and challenged – i.e. compassion, empathy, kindness etc – these attributes, which are the glue of social life - attributes which ensure humans can co-exist with each other in a civil society, have also seemingly disappeared.
 
Television, social media and other technological mediums continually challenge, change and distort our perceptions of reality and have further, slowly desensitized and degraded much of human activity  - to the extent  that a President who runs a country and conducts global diplomacy through tweets is regarded as normal.
