INTRODUCTION
 
‘HOORAY HOORAY -  FOR DEMOCRACY & ELECTIONS?’
 
Well – to be perfectly honest - I’ll have to admit – I am rather bored with it all - whilst a lot ‘appears’ to be happening – there is really nothing ‘new’ going on at all. 
 
It’s the same boring ‘show of old politics’  rehashed - a political fare, which I am now finding quite indigestible - and it seems it will remain that way, for as long as we are removed from the true purpose of democratic politics.
 
A primary purpose, is to provide a civil and safe manner where one can freely hold opinions and views and a forum for meaningful debate, discussion and also a place for decision making which should reflect a ‘consensus,’  of what the people want, their values and reflect their will through leaders who serve the people.
 
The rules of the ‘political game,’ should reinforce this purpose and thus reinforce a ‘civil society.’  The political system should also be able to hold members of the political/power elite to account if these standards are not met.
